The PRIME Operations Manager

Brussels, Belgium

The PRIME Operations Manager assists the Head of PRIME and focuses particularly on facilitating and supporting member Posts in their participation in PRIME, managing operational quality improvement, operational relationships with third parties, and specifying business requirements and managing the development of I.T. systems used for reporting and the development PRIME services.

In addition the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring trading partner agreements are in place to enable data exchange between Posts; expanding the Global Customer Service System to all PRIME participants; overseeing the payments processes between participating PRIME members; preparing monthly performance and quarterly remuneration reports; ensuring the necessary quality management processes and performance indicators are developed, implemented and maintained; the enhancement and maintenance of the PRIME website content; and the preparation of documents for, and minutes of, the PRIME Meetings.

This varied and challenging role is likely to suit an individual who can demonstrate:

  • 5 years+ international commercial experience, preferably in quality, operations and product development , with at least 5 years in an operational managerial role in a network service company;
  • Successful experience of managing in a complex and demanding operations service environment with diverse internal and external stakeholders;
  • A track record of developing, implementing and continually improving quality processes in a services environment;
  • Experience of developing, and managing the implementation of, specifications for the development of IT systems;
  • Successful demonstrable experience in developing services for SME and Top Account customers;
  • Successful experience in strategic technology management with third party service providers;
  • Successful experience in managing to agreed business objectives and targets.

Added advantages would be previous experience in the postal industry, and of working in an international multi-cultural environment. Candidates should have a university degree or higher (desirably in logistics or a related subject), and be fluent in spoken and written English. Additional common/useful languages are an asset. The candidate should be available for short-term travel in any part of the world, be detail-oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

Drone footage of Hermes super hub

Hermes UK has opened its new purpose built, automated parcel distribution hub in Rugby, the biggest of its kind in the UK. The £31m (US$40m) development represents the most significant investment in the company’s history and will create more than 100 jobs. Located in Rugby, the Midlands super hub measures 270,000ft², the equivalent of 34 soccer pitches, and has the capability to efficiently process in excess of one million parcels each day.

UPS delivery drivers trained using VR simulations

UPS has announced that it will start training student delivery drivers to spot and identify road hazards using virtual reality (VR) headsets that simulate the experience of driving on city streets. The company will launch VR training at nine UPS Integrad training facilities in September.
